Online<\/a><\/p>\n Ben Stiller<\/strong><\/a> couldn\u2019t dodge his kids\u2019 candid thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n In his upcoming documentary <\/span>Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost<\/span><\/em>\u2014which looks back at his childhood and the relationship between his parents <\/span>Jerry<\/strong> Stiller<\/strong> and <\/span>Anne<\/strong> Meara<\/strong>\u2014the <\/span>Zoolander<\/span><\/em> star also <\/span>detailed <\/span>his own journey as a father, which <\/span>included<\/span> some though conversations<\/span><\/a> with his and wife <\/span>Christine Taylor<\/strong>\u2019s children <\/span>Ella<\/strong> Stiller<\/strong>, 23, and <\/span>Quin<\/strong> Stiller<\/strong>, 20.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAfter a tough day, or if something was going wrong, you can kind of get into your own head,\u201d Quin <\/span>told his <\/span>father in the documentary, per <\/span>Us Weekly<\/span><\/em><\/a>. \u201cAnd when you get into that place, it\u2019s hard to get you out of it. So that would kind of put a damper on the fun part of being on vacation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n His son <\/span>explained<\/span>, \u201cYou have all these hats that you\u2019re trying to balance, you know? Being a director, an actor, a producer, a writer. But also just, like, a father. And sometimes, I felt that would come last to these other things.\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n More from E! Online<\/strong><\/p>\n Ben also <\/span>recalled<\/span> Ella telling<\/span> him, \u201cI literally can\u2019t ever remember you being around when I was growing up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And as the 59-year-old shared, hearing these confessions from his children was hard, as he\u2019d tried to ensure his kids had a better childhood than he did.<\/span><\/p>\n
