The wildly popular animated musical film \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d is returning to theaters.<\/p>\n
The most-watched original title in Netflix history, \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d premiered on the streaming platform in June. A sing-along version of the film was then released in theaters in August. Just a couple of months later, \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d is returning to the big screen for a Halloween sing-along event. <\/p>\n
The \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d sing-along will be available in all major U.S. theatrical chains \u2014 AMC, Regal, and Cinemark \u2014 as well as other select theaters. Tickets are on sale now<\/a> for the limited event, which runs from Friday, Oct. 31, through Sunday, Nov. 2. Fans are invited to come dressed as their favorite character from the film.<\/p>\n \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d follows Huntr\/x, a K-pop girl group who lead double lives as demon hunters. Their musical rivals, boy band the Saja boys, are secretly demons. <\/p>\n Arden Cho (Rumi), May Hong (Mira), and Ji-young Yoo (Zoey) lead the voice cast as the members of Huntr\/x. Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami provided the singing voices of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, respectively. <\/p>\n \u201cLost\u201d alum Yunjin Kim voices the role of Celine, a former demon hunter and K-pop idol who raised Rumi after her mom\u2019s death. Maggie Kang, who cowrote, co-directed, and created the story of the film, thinks there\u2019s room for a sequel.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s definitely more we can do with these characters in this world,\u201d Kang told the BBC<\/a> earlier this month.\u201dAnd whatever it will be, it will be a story that deserves to be a sequel, and it will be something that we want to see.\u201d <\/p>\n As for the film\u2019s early Oscars buzz \u2014 it has a chance at both Best Animated Film and Best Original Song \u2014 Kang\u2019s co-director Chris Appelhans told the BBC, \u201cWe tried to do something new and it was really hard, and I think we\u2019re really proud of how it came out.
