After five years of winning in at least one of her two categories, Kelly Clarkson<\/a> was shut out at the 2025 Daytime Emmys. The awards were held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Calif., on Friday (Oct. 17).\u00a0Mario Lopez<\/a> hosted the show.<\/p>\n Drew Barrymore won outstanding daytime talk series host for The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em>. This is the second year in a row that Clarkson has been upset in this category (which she won the four years before that). She lost last year to Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, the married stars of the syndicated Live With Kelly and Mark<\/em>.<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n This year, Live With Kelly and Mark<\/em> won outstanding daytime talk series, ending (or at least interrupting) The Kelly Clarkson Show\u2019s<\/em> four-year hold on the category. This is the second top program award for the long-running Live<\/em> franchise. Live! with Regis and Kelly<\/em> (when Ripa teamed with talk show legend Regis Philbin) won outstanding talk show \u2013 entertainment in 2012.<\/p>\n Barrymore has had a multi-faceted career, starting as a child star in E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial<\/em>. In 2018 she was the subject of Bryce Vine\u2019s Billboard Hot 100 hit \u201cDrew Barrymore.\u201d<\/p>\n The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em> also won best directing team and best hairstyling\/makeup, for a total of three wins. The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/em> won two \u2013 best lighting direction and best live sound mixing\/sound editing.<\/p>\n General Hospital<\/em> won seven awards, tops for the night, followed by The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em> and The Secret Lives of Animals<\/em> (three awards each), and Black Barbie, Days of Our Lives, Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade, Entertainment Tonight, The Kelly Clarkson Show <\/em>and The Secret Lives of Orangutans <\/em>(two awards each).<\/p>\n Entertainment Tonight<\/em>\u00a0won outstanding entertainment news series for the sixth consecutive year, while the host team (Cassie DiLaura, Denny Directo, Kevin Frazier, Rachel Smith and Nischelle Turner) won outstanding daytime personality \u2013 daily. But an ET<\/em>-branded program remembering a TV legend,\u00a0Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter<\/em>,\u00a0An Entertainment Tonight Special<\/em>, surprisingly lost outstanding daytime special to Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade<\/em>.<\/p>\n Sir David Attenborough,\u00a0who turns 100 next May, won outstanding daytime personality \u2013 non-daily for the Netflix program, Secret Lives of Orangutans<\/em>.<\/p>\n Selena Gomez<\/a>\u2019s Food Network series\u00a0Selena + Restaurant<\/em>\u00a0was nominated for outstanding culinary instructional series, but lost to Delicious Miss Brown<\/em> on the Food Network. Gomez has now gone 0-3 at the Daytime Emmys, 0-5 at the Primetime Emmys and 0-1 at the Children\u2019s and Family Emmys. (Bottom line: She is due for a win.)<\/p>\n Three top entertainment media brands \u2013\u00a0Billboard, Variety <\/em>and The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 were recognized in the nominations (though none wound up winning).\u00a0Billboard Presents<\/em> was nominated for outstanding short form program.\u00a0Variety Studio: Actors on Actors\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Off Script With the Hollywood Reporter\u00a0<\/em>were both nominated for outstanding arts and popular culture program.<\/p>\n Billboard Presents<\/em>\u00a0are the video cover profiles that\u00a0Billboard<\/em>\u00a0produces for some of its cover artists. The specific episode submitted for the series was the cover video with conductor Gustavo Dudamel. Other Billboard Presents<\/em> segments include cover videos with A$AP Rocky<\/a>, Tyler, The Creator<\/a>\u00a0and Charli XCX<\/a>.<\/p>\n The In Memoriam segment included talk show pioneer Phil Donahue; game show hosts Chuck Woolery, Peter Marshall and Wink Martindale; fitness guru and personality Richard Simmons; televangelist Jimmy Swaggart; acting legend James Earl Jones; and host Anne Burrell.<\/p>\n The awards are presented annually by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
