Susan Walters<\/a><\/strong> won the Daytime Emmy<\/a> for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role as Diane Jenkins Abbott on The Young and the Restless<\/a><\/em>!<\/p>\n This was Walters first nomination and first win.<\/p>\n She got her start in soap operas on ABC’s Loving<\/em>, which premiered in 1983, where she portrayed Lorna Forbes Conway until late 1986.<\/p>\n After leaving Loving<\/em>, Walters appeared in multiple Aaron Spelling<\/strong> productions, including Melrose Place<\/em>. And, like many soap stars of that era, appeared on the long-running Murder She Wrote<\/em>.<\/p>\n She took over the role of Diane Jenkins on The Young and the Restless <\/em>in 2001 and portrayed the character through 2004.<\/p>\n After that stint in daytime she appeared on such primetime soaps as One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, Star-Crossed<\/em> and an episode of How to Get Away with Murder.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n She returned to The Young and the Restless <\/em>and Diane Jenkins in 2022 and quickly went toe-to-toe with Y&R heavyweights Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Melody Thomas Scott\u00a0<\/strong>(Nikki Newman), Peter Bergman<\/strong>\u00a0(Jack Abbott) and Eileen Davidson <\/strong>(Ashley Abbott).<\/p>\n Diane returned to Genoa City to reunite with her son Kyle Abbott<\/strong> and her scenes opposite Michael Mealor <\/strong>and Peter Bergman gave her meaty material to submit for this year’s Daytime Emmy consideration.<\/p>\n She is married to Linden Ashby,<\/strong> who also received a Daytime Emmy nomination this year for Outstanding Guest Actor.
