SIOUX CITY<\/a>, Iowa (KCAU<\/a>) \u2014 While some of you may not know, one Sioux City native has made a mark working on multiple famous shows and creating several short films. On Friday, he hosted the world premiere of his latest work here in Sioux City.<\/p>\n ACME crew member Sean McGarry showcased his first-ever feature-length horror movie, \u201cDestroy This Tape,\u201d at the RE\/MAX Center. The film has received several accolades, including Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Content, and an Honorable Mention for Best Movie at the Global Film Festival Awards.<\/p>\n Although Sean was unable to attend the premiere in person, his father was present and expressed pride in Sean\u2019s work, stating he is excited to share the film with the Siouxland community.<\/p>\n Story continues below<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cYou know, back when he was young, and he said he wanted to work on \u2018The Walking Dead\u2019. I\u2019m like, \u2018You know what? Go for it. Let\u2019s see what you can do,’\u201d said Sean\u2019s dad, Kevin McGarry. \u201c\u2018We\u2019ll get you a camera, we\u2019ll have you start doing it,\u2019 and he was 11 or 12 years old at the time. And he really fell in love with this whole making movies. He really wanted to entertain people, and this is really fun.\u201d<\/p>\n Not only did the movie premiere in Sioux City draw in a large crowd, but Sean\u2019s showing in Vancouver, Canada, was fully sold out.<\/p>\n Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
