Country music star Raul Malo wrapped up his radiation treatments recently his wife, Betty Malo, shared in a heartwarming social media post.<\/p>\n
\u201cYesterday marked (Raul Malo\u2019s) last day of radiation \u2014 and he did it like the true champion he is!\u201d she wrote alongside a video of her husband playing the piano. \u201cOnce home, Raul went straight to the piano with his mom, just as they always do. They played, laughed, and even shed a few tears. It was a moment of love, strength, and music \u2014 everything that defines him.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also shared a quick view of the radiation mask that Raul had to wear.<\/p>\n
\u201cA reminder of his courage and the fight he faces every day with grace and determination,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n
\u201cTo everyone who\u2019s donated to the GoFundMe or sent love our way, my sincerest thank you,\u201d she added. \u201cYour support means more than words can express. Raul\u2019s fight isn\u2019t over, but we\u2019re walking this journey together \u2014 surrounded by music, family, and the incredible love from all of you.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were plenty more replies like that and you can see them all and Betty\u2019s post with the video here. <\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Betty Malo also shared a video recently of Raul getting emotional talking about the love he had received from fans. <\/p>\n The singer, who recently announced he has been diagnosed with Leptomeningeal Disease, an incurable cancer of the cerebrospinal fluid and leptomeninges, which are membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord, had just wrapped up his seventh day of radiation.<\/p>\n \u201cYou really get touched, ya know,\u201d Raul Malo said.<\/b> <\/a>\u201cReading about myself, like you never think about yourself that way. And it\u2019s like, \u2018Wow, I never really thought about myself in that regard\u2019 Just a guy going through life doing the best I can.\u201d<\/p>\n Moments later as they discussed the impact he has had, Raul became emotional.<\/p>\n \u201cIt blows my mind,\u201d he said. \u201cThere was a worldwide prayer. I mean \u2026 it\u2019s so amazing. Ah \u2026. it\u2019s so beautiful, and it is a life force, no doubt. It\u2019s strong.\u201d<\/p>\n Along with the video that she shared on Facebook, Betty Malo wrote: \u201cYour love is a life-force.\u201d Day 7 of radiation. As we take this journey all the love you send (Raul Malo) never goes unnoticed. Thank you for supporting us and getting us through these next steps. Couldn\u2019t do it without you!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n Malo had been battling stage 4 cancer since last year, but in late September he gave the heartbreaking update that he has developed Leptomeningeal Disease.<\/p>\n \u201cDear Friends, I want to update you all on my health, as things have taken a turn,\u201d he wrote on Facebook. \u201cAs it goes with cancer, it\u2019s a very unpredictable and indiscriminatory disease. I\u2019ve developed something called LMD, which stands for \u2018get this (expletive) out of my head.\u2019 Treatment for this is radiation, which I will start tomorrow. We will probably jump into some chemo and are even looking at alternative therapies. But it\u2019s time to take to heart your words of resting & recovering, so that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to do.<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately, this does mean all shows going forward are cancelled, but we\u2019ll continue doing cool projects, releasing live recordings, merchandise, Trovador and so forth,\u201d he continued. \u201cI want to thank Dwight Yoakam, his band, and crew for their kindness and understanding this year, and sorry we couldn\u2019t finish the tour the way we planned. Hang on to your tickets for the Ryman in December, as we are planning something special there, and hope to announce that very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n Malo then reassured fans about how he is doing.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I want to let everybody know, I am in no way alone, or scared,\u201d he said. \u201cI have an amazing wife and boys, wonderful family, team, road crew, band, friends and fans. I don\u2019t even have enough words to describe the love and support that I\u2019m getting right now. To my friends who have sent me texts and messages, I want you to know that I\u2019ve read them all. I can\u2019t return them all, but your love, prayers, and well wishes have not gone unnoticed.<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t know what this will look like a couple months from now, but we are going into it like we have with everything else,\u201d Malo continued. \u201cFull steam ahead.
