\u201cI\u2019ve got no problem accepting the diagnosis,\u201d he said.<\/b><\/a> \u201cWith time I\u2019ve taken to heart my 94-year-old father\u2019s attitude to the way the organism gradually surrenders: \u2018I use whatever works.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Harket said he didn\u2019t previously reveal his diagnosis because of \u201cmy need for peace and quiet to work that has been stopping me.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m trying the best I can to prevent the entire system from going into decline,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019 a difficult balancing act between taking the medication and managing its side effects. There\u2019s so much to weigh up when you\u2019re emulating the masterful way the body handles every complex movement, or social matters and invitations, or day-to-day life in general.\u201d<\/p>\n Sadly, he said that \u201cproblems with my voice are one of many grounds for uncertainty about my creative future.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t really know,\u201d he said when asked if he can sing now. \u201cI don\u2019t feel like singing, and for me that\u2019s a sign. I\u2019m broadminded in terms of what I think works; I don\u2019t expect to be able to achieve full technical control. The question is whether I can express myself with my voice. As things stand now, that\u2019s out of the question. But I don\u2019t know whether I\u2019ll be able to manage it at some point in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n He finished with a message about his treatment plan and a message for his fans.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to get so many messages about what to do and how to deal with it,\u201d he said. \u201cLots of suggestions for cures and whatnot, all from well-meaning people. I know there are many opinions and alternative theories, but I need to listen to the professionals I have available to me, who are taking care of this with me and for me, and who keep a close eye on developments in many areas of research taking place today. I won\u2019t be able to process anything else.<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t worry about me,\u201d he added. \u201cFind out who you want to be \u2014 a process that can be new each and every day.
