I wanna be a hot dog for a day. Why not?\u201d the actor teased.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Scott Patterson and Sean Gunn in \u201cGilmore Girls.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Warner Bros\/courtesy Everett Co<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kirk, portrayed by Sean Gunn, took on odd jobs around the quaint town, one time dressing as a giant hot dog, working at the beauty shop, and being a handy man.<\/p>\n<p>The drama, which ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007, followed Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), a single mom who lived in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, with her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel).<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Patterson played Graham\u2019s love interest on the WB series.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The cast of \u201cGilmore Girls.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Warner Bros\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The show also featured Lorelai\u2019s wealthy parents, Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop) and Richard Gilmore (Edward Herrmann), along with her best friend and chef at the Independence Inn, Sookie (Melissa McCarthy).<\/p>\n<p>Herrmann\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2014\/12\/31\/gilmore-girls-star-edward-herrmann-dies-at-71\/\">died in 2014<\/a>\u00a0at the age of 71.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Patterson has been rewatching the series for his new podcast,<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iheart.com\/podcast\/1119-i-am-all-in-with-scott-pa-81509112\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0\u201cI Am All In\u2026Again! with Scott Patterson<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Sean Gunn as Kirk in season 3 of \u201cGilmore Girls. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Warner Bros\/courtesy Everett Co<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Which has given him a new appreciation for Kirk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there\u2019s a world where if we don\u2019t get to do any more episodes or do any more films, which I think we will, but don\u2019t have any information on that, what could be really fun is if somebody financed a real full-length Kirk feature film. Like\u00a0\u2018A Film by Kirk,&#8217;\u201d\u00a0mused Patterson. \u201cI think there\u2019s a world where that could live and thrive and be number one at the box office,\u00a0\u2018A Film by Kirk.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to Luke, the \u201cSullivan\u2019s Crossing\u201d star confessed. \u201cI\u2019m not as tight as him. I like to hang out and laugh, and joke around. I\u2019m probably more like Lorelai than I am Luke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_23-0\">But Patterson knew he was always meant to play the kindhearted resident.   <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Alexis Bledel, Lauren Graham, Sean Gunn in an episode of the WB show. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Warner Bros\/courtesy Everett Co<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_25-0\">\u201cWhen I read the pilot, I thought, \u2018Yeah, that\u2019s not gonna be hard.\u2019 It felt like it was written for me,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen you feel like you don\u2019t want anybody else to play the character, \u2019cause you know you can nail that, then you should probably do that role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And Patterson is hopeful that fans will get to experience the charm of Stars Hollow once more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d love to do a Christmas special,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/14\/entertainment\/gilmore-girls-star-scott-patterson-reveals-whether-the-show-has-a-future-were-doing-our-darndest\/\">he exclusively told The Post<\/a> earlier this week.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Scott Patterson as Luke. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Netflix\/Courtesy Everett Collection \/ Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Patterson added, \u201cThe fans want content, so we\u2019re doing our darnedest to get it to them.\u00a0So maybe it\u2019ll happen again, hopefully in a Christmas special that Amy and Lauren are talking about. I think there\u2019s some intention there. But, who knows.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The show\u2019s creator, Amy Sherman Palladino, and Graham, 58, both\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/news\/lauren-graham-has-the-perfect-idea-for-a-gilmore-girls-movie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shared<\/a>\u00a0this year that they\u2019d be interested in a \u201cGilmore Girls\u201d Christmas special.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Scott Patterson, Lauren Graham in a scene from \u201cGilmore Girls.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Warner Bros\/courtesy Everett Co<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Patterson exclaimed, \u201cI don\u2019t know that that\u2019s an accident. I think maybe they\u2019re signaling to each other that that is what they want, what they could do and manage in their busy schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGilmore Girls\u201d was briefly revived in 2016 with Netflix\u2019s \u201cGilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If \u201cGilmore Girls\u201d <em>did<\/em> come back for a Christmas special, Patterson is hopeful that Luke and Lorelai would still be together.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re forever. I mean, they\u2019ll never change.
