Country music star Lauren Alaina took to social media recently with a tear-filled video and a revelation about her father, J.J. Suddeth, who died in July 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a really hard video for me to make, but I\u2019m going to do it to honor my dad,\u201d Alaina said. <\/b><\/a>\u201cToday would have been his 13th year of sobriety if he would have made it. He passed away a little over a year ago, but he didn\u2019t make it to his 12th year either, and I\u2019m not even sure about his 11th. <\/p>\n \u201cHe relapsed and that\u2019s a major contributing factor as to why he is no longer here with us,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd I just wanted to say that if you are struggling, there are so many people who love you, and for you to love yourself and to get the help that you need and surround yourself with people who love you.\u201d<\/p>\n Alaina then showed that she was going through some of her father\u2019s clothes.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to pick out some of my favorites and make a blanket for my daughter, and I\u2019m going to donate the rest to a veteran organization so that maybe there\u2019s a man out there who needs it that can wear my dad\u2019s clothes,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd find the hope that my dad couldn\u2019t find. Be kind to yourself. Be kind to others. Life is so short. Take care of yourselves. There are people who love you.
