Jeremy Allen White<\/strong><\/a> opened up about how he handles being an in-demand Hollywood actor while raising his two daughters.<\/p>\n

The two-time Emmy Award-winning star of The Bear<\/em> shares daughters Ezer Billie, 6, and Dolores Wild, 4, with his ex-wife, Addison Timlin<\/strong>. (The couple separated in 2023 after three years of marriage and Timlin filed for divorce<\/a> in May of that year.)<\/p>\n

White\u2019s most recent high-profile role was playing legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen<\/strong> in the biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere<\/em>, which chronicles the musician\u2019s battles with his record label while making the landmark 1982 album Nebraska<\/em>. (The Scott Cooper<\/strong>-directed movie is based on author Warren Zanes<\/strong>\u2019 2023 book Deliver Me from Nowhere<\/em> and also features a leading performance from Jeremy Strong<\/strong> as Springsteen\u2019s manager, Jon Landau<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

Speaking to London\u2019s The Times<\/em><\/a>, White, 34, admitted that the demands of playing Springsteen took its toll on every facet of his life \u2014 including fatherhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019m \u2018pain for hire,\u2019\u201d he joked. \u201cLike I\u2019m getting paid to put myself in painful places. On The Bear<\/em>, it\u2019s not like I walk around punching walls and screaming in my closet. But I stay close to that energy and it\u2019s uncomfortable \u2014 and filming the Bruce movie was incredibly difficult. I was in isolation. I was far from my children. I didn\u2019t travel home much. It made me unwell and when I came out of it I thought, \u2018There has to be a better way.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

White admitted to facing more \u201cscrutiny [with] something going on in my personal life that has been of interest\u201d since The Bear<\/em> became successful, though he\u2019s tried to keep life with his children as grounded as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a while, people will stop following you once they realise that all you do is pick up your kids from school and come home. My life \u2014 my normal life \u2014 is very simple,\u201d he insisted.<\/p>\n

White likened his daily routine to any other parent when he\u2019s not on a Hollywood film set.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike today. I made breakfast for my daughters, took them to school and later I will pick them up and make dinner,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

White joked that, unlike the accomplished chef he plays on The Bear<\/em>, he only has \u201cseven dinner dishes I do well, and three my children enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou do the prep, then they take a bite and just ask for chicken nuggets,\u201d he teased.<\/p>\n
