The San Francisco Chronicle is thrilled to invite subscribers to a free screening of the highly anticipated new biopic “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,” starring Emmy-winning actor Jeremy Allen White of the hit series “The Bear.”<\/p>\n
This special Datebook<\/a> event will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at AMC Metreon 16 in downtown San Francisco before the film’s nationwide premiere on Friday, Oct. 24.<\/p>\n Chronicle Senior Arts & Entertainment Editor Mariecar Mendoza will introduce the film alongside Editor in Chief Emilio Garcia-Ruiz, a devoted Springsteen fan who proudly admits to having 37 versions of “Thunder Road” on his phone.<\/p>\n Tickets are free for current subscribers with RSVP. To reserve your seat, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Directed by Scott Cooper and based on Warren Zanes’ acclaimed 2003 biography of Bruce\u00a0Springsteen, the film explores a defining chapter in the singer’s career\u00a0– when he stepped away from fame to record his haunting 1982 album “Nebraska” alone on a four-track recorder in his New Jersey home.<\/p>\n With White playing The Boss<\/a>, “Deliver Me from Nowhere” captures both the quiet genius and emotional depths behind one of rock’s most intimate works.<\/p>\n The film comes to the city more than a year after\u00a0Springsteen’s two sold-out shows at Chase Center<\/a> in March 2024\u00a0– his first concerts in San Francisco in more than two decades.<\/p>\n Tickets are limited.
