PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN<\/a><\/strong>) \u2014 A \u201conce-in-a-quarter-century\u201d celebration is coming up for Portland fans of \u201cThe Lord of the Rings.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the Fan Expo comes to town next year<\/a><\/strong>, the actors who portrayed the four original \u201chobbits\u201d \u2014 Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan \u2014 will reunite in honor of the film franchise\u2019s 25th anniversary.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn Evening with the Hobbits: In Celebration of 25 Years\u201d will span across 11 cities, starting with the Fan Expo\u2019s New Orleans stop. Portland fans will be the next to experience the reunion during the second day of the expo on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be celebrating this milestone \u2013 a quarter of a century \u2013 just feels abstract,\u201d Frodo Baggins actor Wood said at a previous Fan Expo event. \u201cIt still feels like the films are really present. The fact that we\u2019re spending this kind of time, at conventions with fans and doing shows like this, it keeps it so fresh for us. It\u2019s such a massive, continual part of our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tickets for the three-day Portland convention are already available. Event organizers will start selling tickets for An Evening with the Hobbits on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

The expo also offers tickets for VIP experiences like photo ops and autographs.<\/p>\n
