Filming for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/a> is underway and Elle Fanning<\/a> is taking over the role of Effie Trinket \u2014 with the endorsement of original star Elizabeth Banks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The newest story in the Hunger Games<\/a> franchise \u2014 based on Suzanne Collins\u2018 best-selling novel \u2014 takes place in Panem on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games<\/a>, 24 years before the events of the first movie. In the prequel, Effie serves as the stylist for Haymitch Abernathy (played by Joseph Zada<\/a>) ahead of the 50th games; Banks<\/a> portrayed an older version of Effie in the series\u2019 first four films, which kicked off with The Hunger Games<\/a> hitting theaters in 2012.<\/p>\n

At the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, Fanning told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that they are currently shooting and \u201cI\u2019m almost done with my section. Effie is on the screen now.\u201d<\/p>\n
