\u201cThe Boy Is Mine<\/a>\u201d tour ended early in Chicago on Saturday night after R&B singer-songwriter Brandy<\/a> unexpectedly walked off stage mid-performance before Monica closed the show abruptly.<\/p>\n The show at the United Center ended on a low note, leaving fans confused and worried.<\/p>\n A video<\/a> shared online shows Brandy performing her 1994 R&B hit song, \u201cBaby,\u201d before abruptly turning around and walking offstage while singing. \u201cGive me one second, ya\u2019ll,\u201d she told the audience before indicating she had an issue; however, the sound of her mic was cut off mid-sentence.<\/p>\n Before the start of the song, Brandy said<\/a> onstage, \u201cThe sound is weird, ya\u2019ll.\u201d<\/p>\n Brandy did not return to the stage. Instead, Monica performed her 1997 hit \u201cFor You I Will\u201d solo, despite performing the song with Brandy in previous shows. A video shared<\/a> of the performance shows an emotional Monica crying by the end of the song. To the shock of fans, the concert ended shortly thereafter without much explanation.<\/p>\n \u201cSomething happened that tried to take the voice away, but God\u2019s grace is merciful,\u201d Monica said to fans before performing what fans didn\u2019t know would be the night\u2019s final song.<\/p>\n The Grammy Award-winning artist said it was an \u201chonor to share the stage with Brandy Norwood.\u201d<\/p>\n Reflecting on their, at times, rocky decades-long relationship, Monica said to fans, \u201cI\u2019m saying this from the bottom of my heart; it took 27 years to figure out what we were supposed to be. And what I\u2019m realizing is that we allowed too many other people to be in the midst of what was just supposed to be us.\u201d<\/p>\n Showing love to Brandy and her moniker known to fans, the singer continued, \u201cIn honor of just the way I feel, as I say thank you to each and every one of you, I want ya\u2019ll to make some noise from all around this room for Brandy, the Vocal Bible.\u201d<\/p>\n Neither Brandy nor Monica has released an official statement explaining why the concert in Chicago was ended so early or if any emergency had occurred.<\/p>\n According to concertgoers who shared their first-hand accounts of the evening, Brandy experienced sound issues; others said the show went smoothly until Brandy\u2019s unexpected departure.<\/p>\n \u201cThey didn\u2019t do \u2018The Boy is Mine.\u2019 I love Brandy and Monica. We were having a TIME!\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n Ajayi urged fans and the public to give Brandy \u201cgrace,\u201d given the uncertainty of what happened behind the scenes.<\/p>\n \u201cLet\u2019s not jump to conclusions. Something urgent might have happened that caused her not to return. I really hope she\u2019s okay,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n The first two shows of Brandy and Monica\u2019s nationwide \u201cThe Boy Is Mine\u201d tour in Cincinnati and Milwaukee went smoothly and were praised by concertgoers.
