Now in its 48th year, the 11-day festival running Oct. 2-12 brings huge stars into town for early screenings of Hollywood blockbusters, prestigious award bait and international films you likely won\u2019t see anywhere else. It\u2019s arguably the week where you\u2019re most likely to spot an A-list actor in town.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>This year\u2019s slate of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/app.mvff.com\/browse?tags=Big+Nights&amp;_gl=1*1141nrz*_ga*NjgyMTM3NDExLjE3NTc3MDk5NzU.*_ga_4R6R4P9ZD9*czE3NTc5NTcyNjEkbzMkZzEkdDE3NTc5NTk3MTkkajYwJGwwJGgw\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">\u201cBig Night\u201d<\/a> centerpieces leans heavily on standouts from other festivals like Sundance, Cannes and the Toronto International Film Festival. \u201cHamnet,\u201d the People\u2019s Choice Award winner at TIFF, opens the festival. That\u2019s not to mention dozens of other films screening months in advance of their theatrical releases, many with stars scheduled to make appearance for Q&amp;As after the films.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>Ticket prices vary based on the tier of event (with higher prices for \u201cBig Nights\u201d), but general admission ranges from $16 for California Film Institute members to $20 for the general public.
