The 49-year-old actress \u2013 whose breakout role was in Felicity in 1998 \u2013 finds it frustrating that people are so focused on appearance but admitted she can\u2019t help thinking and talking about it herself too.<\/p>\n
She told PEOPLE: \u201cIt\u2019s such a weird thing being a woman. Everyone has an opinion about the way you look, the way you dress, the way your hair is.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just the nature of our society.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s something my girlfriends and I talk about all the time. Plastic surgery is having such a moment right now – men, women, 20-year-olds. I mean, it is around. We\u2019re inundated with these movie stars. Even though they might be 50 or 60 years old, they look amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Keri is currently starring as U.S. Ambassador Kate Wyler in The Diplomat and loves that her character isn\u2019t obsessed with her appearance.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cI find it really enjoyable, I mean, it\u2019s like a fun thing to play. I like how cranky she is about it, and how she\u2019s always trying to fight people about it, and is rude about it. I love it. I find it delightful.<\/p>\n
\u201cI watch this show and I\u2019m like, I do not look like that, you know. I like the way I look on the show, and it\u2019s amazing that I feel like that\u2019s strange, like that\u2019s a unique thing to look like that, but it is.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
