Kim Kardashian<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s latest Skims drop stirred up quite a bit of controversy on the internet \u2014 and now she\u2019s speaking out after the viral product sold out. <\/p>\n Last week, the brand shared that they were releasing the Faux Hair Micro String Thong<\/a>, a line of underwear that featured fake hair in a variety of different textures and colors, from blonde to red, brown and black, and from straight to curly. <\/p>\n \u201cWho said the carpet has to match the drapes?\u201d the brand wrote on social media<\/a> on Oct. 14. \u201cOur most shocking panty, ever, is available now.\u201d<\/p>\n \ud83c\udfac\u00a0<\/strong>SIGN UP for Parade\u2019s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\ud83c\udfac\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The undies, which retailed for $32 a piece on the Skims website<\/a>, divided fans over their controversial nature<\/a>, and Kardashian faced some backlash over the unique item. But despite the response, the product sold out almost instantly, which even surprised Kardashian. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI had no idea that it would have quite the reaction and that it would sell out in a few minutes,\u201d Kardashian shared with Variety<\/a> on Saturday (Oct. 18). <\/p>\n As for how it all came to be, she added, \u201cThat was just a fun idea that I had. There was a shoot and someone wanted to have hair down there once and I was like, \u2018Couldn\u2019t this just be easy and have it on a thong?\u2019 And so we made that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kardashian noted that there may be more controversial products on the way as the brand is always working on things that push the envelope. <\/p>\n \u201cThere will be some things. I think it\u2019s always fun to mix it up.
