Fans are getting closer to the long-anticipated third season of Euphoria<\/em> and Jacob Elordi says it will be worth the wait. Speaking to Variety<\/em><\/a> at the Academy Museum Gala over the weekend, the actor praised his experience shooting the new episodes.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was incredible, man,\u201d Elordi said. \u201cIt was incredibly liberating. I got to play something so sort of far out from what I\u2019ve done before.\u201d He added that series creator Sam Levinson \u201cconstructed something that\u2019s incredibly clever and cinematic.\u201d \u201cI think people are really going to like it,\u201d Elordi noted.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n Despite the excitement, the actor explained he doesn\u2019t actually know all of the plot lines for the forthcoming third season. \u201cEverybody shoots at different storylines,\u201d Elordi said. \u201cI don\u2019t know what anyone else is doing. I had a really singular storyline. You don\u2019t know what the other story lines are. It\u2019s like FBI files. So it\u2019s great because I\u2019ll get to consume the show the same way that everybody else does as a fan, which I haven\u2019t been able to do before. I\u2019m really excited.\u201d<\/p>\n Elordi plays high school football star Nate Jacobs on Euphoria<\/em>. The show also stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, and Dominic Fike. Season 3 will feature several new cast members, including Sam Trammell, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and Eli Roth. In November, Storm Reid revealed she would\u00a0not be returning for a third season<\/a>,\u00a0but expressed gratitude for becoming a part of the \u201ccultural phenomenon.\u201d<\/p>\n The second season of the teen drama aired in 2022. Fans have been waiting ever since to see how several storylines conclude. Earlier this year, HBO finally confirmed<\/a> that the show would be back on the network in 2026. After Season 2 debuted, Zendaya speculated about what the follow-up might entail.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to see what Rue looks like in her sobriety journey, how chaotic that might look,\u201d she said. \u201cBut also with all the characters, in the sense where they\u2019re trying to figure out what to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be. What was special about this season was that we got to dive into [the other characters] in a much deeper sense. I think we can do that again with the third season.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Sweeney promised<\/a> that Season 3 would be \u201cunhinged.\u201d In an interview with\u00a0Empire<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>magazine, the actress gave a light tease of the show\u2019s return while discussing her deep attachment to her character, Cassie. She praised Levinson\u2019s openness to pushing things as far as possible, calling him \u201ca brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I\u2019ll read something, then I\u2019ll call him, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Let\u2019s go crazier,\u2019\u201d Sweeney said. \u201cAnd he\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2019m all in.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Elordi is currently starring in Guillermo del Toro\u2019s adaptation of Frankenstein<\/em><\/a>.
