Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> pro Mark Ballas<\/strong><\/a> is breaking down the process of song selection ahead of the show\u2019s highly anticipated Wicked Night.<\/p>\n

In a TikTok<\/a> uploaded on Sunday, October 19, Ballas, 39, poked fun at fans who thought he was given his first pick, writing, \u201cHow some of you think I am in the DWTS music meetings.\u201d Ballas lip-synched along to a scene from the movie Hook with the phrase, \u201cI want a cookie, I want to potty, I want, I want, I want, me, me, me, mine, mine, mine, now, now, now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The professional dancer elaborated in the caption.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll jokes aside here were my Wicked requests in order \u2728 1, \u2018For good\u2019 switching to 6\/8 timing could be beautiful for V Waltz,\u201d he wrote. \u201c2, The Wizard & I, \u2018We already did foxtrot so maybe Jazz\u2019?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballas continued: \u201c3, What is this feeling, \u2018we already did Foxtrot so maybe Jazz\u2019? 4, Popular \u2018could be a cute Quickstep but.. \u2018the tempo needs to be more consistent which the band can make happen\u2019 But honestly this is one of my FAVORITE shows of all time and I\u2019d be happy with any song. I LOVE the music so much \ud83e\udef6\ud83c\udffc.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Ballas and partner Whitney Leavitt<\/strong> ended up<\/a> with a quickstep set to Ariana Grande\u2019<\/strong>s version of \u201cPopular.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fellow DWTS<\/em> pros joined the fun in the comments section, with Ezra Sosa<\/strong> writing, \u201cWait\u2026we can have MUSIC MEETINGS?! \ud83d\udc80\ud83d\udc80.\u201d Emma Slater<\/strong> chimed in, replying, \u201cNot that we have music meetings mind you \ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude02.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballas originally joined DWTS<\/em> in 2007<\/a> and competed for 10 seasons before taking a break. He departed after season 25 but returned in 2022, winning season 31 with partner Charli D\u2019Amelio<\/strong>. After taking home the mirrorball trophy, Ballas said he wasn\u2019t sure how long he would remain on Dancing With the Stars<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know [if I\u2019m coming back],\u201d he exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in November 2022. \u201cYou know, the older I get, I try to stay very present in the moment, you know, and I think that was like a big part of creating these dances.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cEvery week \u2026 I tried to put every aspect of creativity, care, musicality, nuance into each one. I think you can only do that by staying totally in the moment of each time. So, right now I\u2019m in this moment with Charli and \u2026 my body couldn\u2019t even fathom a thought of doing this [in] six months, so I\u2019ll let you know down the line.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballas confirmed in March 2023 that he was officially retiring from DWTS<\/em>. \u201cI\u2019ve done 20 seasons now. I started this journey when I was 21, 22 and honestly being able to dance and perform for you fans \u2014 you guys are the best fans,\u201d he revealed during the DWTS tour in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
