Miriam Cates has called for Prince Andrew to be “exiled” amid mounting pressure over his royal title.<\/p>\n
Speaking on GB News, she joined a heated discussion on whether Parliament should strip the Duke of York of his status following renewed scrutiny of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n
Her remarks came during an exchange between GB News host Andrew Pierce and PR expert Piers Pottinger, who said the scandal was “doing the monarchy no good”.<\/p>\n
Miriam added: “Once you start stripping titles, where do you stop? You could end up with the monarchy disintegrating, and we\u2019d be left as a republic. It would be ghastly.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Political commentator Piers Pottinger said: “It\u2019s an appalling situation, and it\u2019s not doing the monarchy any good. <\/p>\n
“But it is extraordinary, one thing that I think is often overlooked is that in the Epstein affair, which is colossal, it seems only the British are being dragged into it. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“Peter Mandelson, Ghislaine Maxwell, Prince Andrew – they\u2019re all British.<\/p>\n
“And yet Epstein built a billion-dollar fortune in America, regularly hobnobbing with the likes of Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Bill Clinton.<\/p>\n
“All of the American figures in this appalling mess seem to have escaped scot-free.<\/p>\n
“Why isn\u2019t there an investigative journalist in America looking at how Epstein built his fortune?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“No one has yet come up with the answer to that. It wasn\u2019t through property, so I believe it must have been through the stock exchange.<\/p>\n
“The American angle of this is very sinister. It\u2019s entirely focused on the British, and particularly Prince Andrew.<\/p>\n
“Now, there\u2019s no question that if he did what the late Virginia Giuffre alleges, it\u2019s all very horrible, sordid and unpleasant.<\/p>\n
“It would appear he hasn\u2019t been totally truthful, not just with journalists, but with the British people. And that\u2019s despicable here there\u2019s a huge amount still under wraps.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“But the whole Epstein picture has only been touched on by this aspect of it. I think there\u2019s much more to come.<\/p>\n
“Not just, sadly, for Andrew, but also in America.” <\/p>\n
Prince Andrew announced on Friday that he was giving up his Duke of York title, his knighthood and his role as a Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.<\/p>\n
However, Andrew will still retain his dukedom as only an act of Parliament can remove it from him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Some MPs are now calling for Parliament to intervene while others have said it is a decision for the Royal Family to lobby for the dukedom to be removed by Parliament.<\/p>\n
Stephen Flynn, the SNP leader in Westminster, told The Telegraph: “I won\u2019t sit silent \u2013 if an act of Parliament is required.”<\/p>\n
He added: “There can be no justification from this Labour Government as to why that is not immediately happening.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
