But Comedy Central has an explanation. <\/p>\n \u201cSouth Park\u201d aired its latest episode, \u201cTwisted Christian,\u201d on Wednesday, Oct. 15. The season premiere was later pushed back to July 23<\/a>. <\/p>\n In addition, when Comedy Central announced in September<\/a> the air dates for more episodes of \u201cSouth Park\u201d \u2014 scheduled for Oct. 15, Oct. 29, Nov. 12, Nov. 26 and Dec. 10 \u2014 the network never specified which season these episodes would fall under. <\/p>\n The confusion amongst fans may have been caused by the lack of a long break between \u201cSouth Park\u201d seasons. The last episode of 27th season, titled \u201cConflict of Interest,\u201d aired just three weeks ago on Sept. 24. The Hollywood Reporter mentioned how the latest season of \u201cSouth Park\u201d shifted from a weekly drop to bi-weekly drop. <\/p>\n The show\u2019s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, have yet to comment on the scheduling change. <\/p>\n Ahead of the premiere of the 27th season, Parker and Stone inked a five-year deal with Paramount for the show\u2019s streaming rights worth $1.5 billion, according to Variety.<\/a><\/p>\n The season was the subject of widespread attention due to its focus on current politics, depicting fictionalized versions of political figure<\/a>s such as President Donald Trump and U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.<\/p>\n Season 27 of the show enjoyed a surge in ratings. The season\u2019s second episode, titled \u201cGot a Nut,\u201d drew 6.2 million global multi-platform viewers<\/a> across Comedy Central and Paramount+ in its first three days.
