Kevin Federline<\/strong><\/a> is revealing what his future in show business could have looked like if he just said \u201cyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything from Big Brother<\/em><\/a> to Wife Swap<\/em><\/a> landed on my desk,\u201d the former backup dancer, 47, alleged in his new memoir You Thought You Knew<\/em><\/a>, out on Tuesday, October 21, claiming that \u201creality TV offers flooded in\u201d after he appeared on Celebrity Fit Club<\/em><\/a> in 2010.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey even floated my name as a potential host for Dancing with the Stars<\/em><\/a> when the show first started, but I turned it down,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Federline went on to admit that he \u201ccouldn\u2019t see the appeal\u201d in the reality dance competition, so he \u201ccouldn\u2019t have guessed how massive\u201d it would become.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn hindsight, I missed an opportunity there, but I\u2019ve never been one to chase fame for fame\u2019s sake,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDancing With the Stars has attracted some of the biggest names in show business and beyond \u2014 but some celebrities wouldn\u2019t consider stepping foot into the ballroom. During a September 2025 episode of the \u201cSorry We\u2019re Cyrus\u201d podcast, Brandi Cyrus revealed that mom Tish Cyrus is \u201cterrified\u201d of lacing up her dancing shoes due to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Federline also claimed he received multiple opportunities for a tell-all interview with \u201cmassive amounts of money\u201d as payout. He further claimed he turned the offers down in order to protect the people closest to him, including his ex-wife, Britney Spears<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re talking six-figure deals that I was turning down for the sake of Britney and my family,\u201d he claimed, noting that doing reality TV \u201cwasn\u2019t all bad\u201d instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gave me a chance to prioritize my health, and the paycheck was hard to argue with. But it also opened my eyes to how manipulative the medium could be,\u201d he claimed in the book. \u201cThe manufactured drama, the constant pressure to \u2018turn it on\u2019 for the cameras, it just wasn\u2019t me. The experience left me wary of the industry just when reality TV was dominating pop culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aside from his stint on Celebrity Fit Club<\/em>, Federline also appeared on the short-lived reality weight loss series Excess Baggage<\/em> in 2012.<\/p>\n

The former dancer has been making headlines for the various claims he makes against his ex-wife<\/a> in the new book. Federline told Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively why now was the perfect time for him to share his story.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve sat back and watched people tell my story through a different lens for 20 years,\u201d the musician explained. \u201cI focused on my family, focused on my kids, focused on making sure that we were doing right by them \u2014 and everybody involved, really.\u201d<\/p>\n

Federline was married to Spears, 43, for three years, from 2004 to 2007. They share sons<\/a> Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted my kids to be old enough to understand it was time for me to tell my story, time for me to finally come forward and put my life in perspective because I don\u2019t want them to have to do it,\u201d he added. \u201cI felt like waiting was great. It gave me a chance to reflect. It gave me a chance to get a well-rounded perspective of everything and allowed my kids to be old enough to get behind it and give me the OK.\u201d<\/p>\n
