Mirah<\/a> has shared her first new music in seven years. The Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter\u2019s new song \u201cCatch My Breath<\/a>,\u201d her first release since 2018\u2019s Understanding<\/em><\/a>, is out now via Double Double Whammy<\/a> and Mirah\u2019s label Absolute Magnitude<\/a>. The new song also features Flock of Dimes<\/a>\u2019 Jenn Wasner, Hand Habits<\/a>\u2019 Meg Duffy, and Andrew Maguire in the studio band. Check it out below.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I first wrote this song it had a sonically pensive aura,\u201d Mirah said of \u201cCatch My Breath\u201d in press materials. \u201cI could tell it was a keeper, but I wanted to try some different presentations, play with it a little. Could the wound spring of questioning and longing and relationship anxiety sound bombastic, or fun, or like an \u201980s pop song? That\u2019s what we went for in the studio. I love how the song expressed its malleability to me and then took so well to the treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2021, Mirah reissued<\/a> two formerly out-of-print LPs, 2002\u2019s Advisory Committee<\/em> and 2004\u2019s C\u2019mon Miracle<\/em>.
