The new \u201cBlue Bloods\u201d spinoff, \u201cBoston Blue,\u201d has a star-studded cast.<\/p>\n
Donnie Wahlberg<\/b> stars as Detective Danny Reagan, a role he previously played on all 14 seasons of \u201cBlue Bloods.\u201d <\/p>\n
While \u201cBlue Bloods\u201d took place in New York City, \u201cBoston Blue\u201d is set in the Massachusetts capital. Danny takes a job with the Boston police department and gets partnered with Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green<\/b>), the granddaughter of renowned pastor Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson<\/b>) and the daughter of Boston District Attorney Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben<\/b>). <\/p>\n
Lena\u2019s stepsister Sarah Silver (Maggie Lawson<\/b>) and brother Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner<\/b>) also work for the Boston PD. Danny\u2019s son Sean (Mika Amonsen<\/b>) partners with Jonah after moving to Boston amid an NYPD hiring freeze. Sean was originally played by Andrew Terraciano on \u201cBlue Bloods\u201d.<\/p>\n
While Wahlberg is the only \u201cBlue Bloods\u201d star who carried over to the main cast of \u201cBoston Blue,\u201d two other alums made appearances during the Oct. 17 premiere of the new spinoff. Danny\u2019s sister Erin (Bridget Moynahan<\/b>) surprised him in Boston after Sean was injured in a fire. <\/p>\n
\u201cPretty sure I said nobody needed to come,\u201d Danny told his sister. <\/p>\n
\u201cSince when have I ever listened to you?\u201d Erin shot back.<\/p>\n
Danny\u2019s former NYPD partner Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez<\/b>) also appeared in one scene. The duo, who kept their relationship professional until the series finale of \u201cBlue Bloods,\u201d were sharing an intimate moment when Danny got a call about Sean\u2019s injury. <\/p>\n Ramirez hasn\u2019t signed on to more episodes of \u201cBoston Blue\u201d just yet, but co-showrunner Brandon Sonnier told Variety <\/a>that Maria and Danny\u2019s story isn\u2019t over. <\/p>\n \u201cLong-distance relationships are a thing.
