The final season of \u201cStranger Things<\/a>\u201d kicks off next month on Netflix<\/a>, but the show\u2019s creators are warning fans not to expect the return of one beloved character from the previous season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Joseph Quinn<\/a>, who played season four fan-favorite Eddie Munson<\/a>, has said he\u2019d love to return<\/a> for the final season despite his character\u2019s apparent death. But the Duffer Brothers, who created the show, told Empire Magazine<\/a> that\u2019s not happening. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he\u2019s dead,\u201d Matt Duffer told the mag. \u201cJoe is so busy anyway, that everyone should know he\u2019s not coming back. He\u2019s shot like five movies since! When the hell has he got time to come and shoot Stranger Things? No, sadly, RIP. He\u2019s fully under that ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Munson was the resident metalhead \u201cfreak\u201d of Hawkins, Indiana, and leader of the Hellfire Club for Dungeons & Dragons players. Ostracized by the community and falsely accused of murder, he sacrificed himself in the Upside Down to save his friends while also delivering \u201cthe most metal concert in the history of the world<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But fans know that deaths aren\u2019t always what they appear to be, and many were hoping Munson would somehow be back. He was even asked about it by immigration<\/a> as he entered the U.S. in 2022. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Assuming the Duffers are being honest, however, that now seems unlikely<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The first batch of episodes will hit Netflix<\/a> on Nov. 26, followed by additional episodes on Dec. 25 and the series finale on Dec. 31. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
