And, um, turns out Andrew hasn&#8217;t paid rent on the property in two full years. On top of <em data-node-id=\"2.1\">that<\/em>, his lease agreement lasts until 2078.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\"><em data-node-id=\"3.0\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/uk\/royal-family\/article\/prince-andrew-rent-free-windsor-mansion-rbrgfjkrr\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/uk\/royal-family\/article\/prince-andrew-rent-free-windsor-mansion-rbrgfjkrr\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"The Times\" data-node-id=\"3.0.0\" class=\"body-link css-103hk4r emevuu60\">The Times<\/a><\/em> got their hands on Andrew&#8217;s lease of the 30-room estate, and he has only paid &#8220;one peppercorn (if demanded)&#8221; in rent per year since 2003. Meanwhile, King Charles is allegedly hoping Andrew will leave the Royal Lodge and move into Frogmore Cottage\u2014the former home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">As a reminder, Prince Andrew announced that he&#8217;d be giving up the title in the below statement on October 17:<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"9\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\"><em data-node-id=\"9.0\">In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first.
