John Stamos<\/strong><\/a><\/span> is clarifying the type of love he has for his longtime friend, Lori Loughlin<\/span><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people were like, \u2018Oh, you guys were romantic,\u2019\u201d Stamos, 62, recalled on the Monday, October 20, episode of the \u201cGood Guys\u201d podcast<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI happened to say she was the one who got away in something, and I think it was before I met [my wife] Caitlin<\/strong> [McHugh<\/strong>], and it was an interesting thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the episode, podcast host Ben Soffer<\/strong> said he asked listeners before the taping if they had any questions for Stamos.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest question was, \u2018Come on. Aunt Becky. Bring her in. Bring her into the fold,\u2019\u201d Soffer shared.<\/p>\n

Stamos replied, \u201cA threesome? No.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soffer later clarified, \u201cThey didn\u2019t ask that. They asked, \u2018Would you leave your wife for her?\u2019 We\u2019re not doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stamos, however, made it clear that he\u2019s not interested in leaving or opening up his marriage. \u201cNo f***ing way,\u201d he explained. \u201cI\u2019m not Mormon.\u201d<\/p>\n

As detailed in his 2023 memoir<\/a> If You Would Have Told Me<\/i>, Stamos said there was a \u201cvery small window of the two of us being single at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Loughlin, 61, married Mossimo Giannulli<\/strong> in 1997 before separating<\/span><\/a> in October after nearly 28 years of marriage. As for Stamos, he married McHugh in February 2018.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJohn Stamos and Lori Loughlin played one of TV\u2019s greatest couples and their off-screen relationship has been just as sweet. Stamos and Loughlin connected prior to their time on Full House, even going on a date to Disneyland when they were young adults. While it didn\u2019t work out at the time, they reconnected when they [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t mean to belittle or pare it down to Grease<\/i>, but Lori was Sandy, you know before the leather and all that stuff, before that song,\u201d Stamos explained to podcast hosts Josh Peck<\/strong> and\u00a0Soffer. \u201cRebecca Romijn<\/strong> was Sandy in the leather and the, \u2018Tell me about it, stud.\u2019 There was a moment where I had the choice, I think. And I was more into, you know, the rebellious. Lori was sweet and I loved working with her, but she was too nice for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stamos and Romijn got married in September 1998. The actor later filed for divorce in August 2004. Romijn went on to marry Jerry O\u2019Connell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When describing Loughlin, Stamos called her a \u201csaint\u201d who is \u201cAmerica\u2019s sweetheart.\u201d As for their relationship, he clarified that it \u201cwas always platonic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI always thought that we made out on some ride at Disneyland,\u201d Stamos joked. \u201cI think she said it didn\u2019t happen, so I don\u2019t know if it was something I made up in my mind, some sort of fantasy.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Loughlin copes with a public breakup, Stamos is offering support to his longtime Fuller House<\/i><\/span><\/a> costar and friend.<\/p>\n

\u201cLori lives in my neighborhood,\u201d he explained. \u201cI was over there a lot, and she would come to our house a couple of times. Caitlin\u2019s been good about it. It\u2019s tough.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Loughlin hasn\u2019t publicly commented on her split from Giannulli, 62, her rep confirmed to Us<\/i> on October 2 that the pair \u2014 who share two daughters, Isabella Rose<\/strong>, 27, and Olivia Jade<\/strong>, 26 \u2014 have separated.<\/p>\n

In response to the separation, Stamos made it clear that he is team Loughlin<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
