Reese Witherspoon<\/strong><\/a> tried to help Mindy Kaling<\/strong><\/a> find love \u2014 but she\u2019s not in the market for a significant other.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t go on the apps. One time, once very pretty recently, Reese Witherspoon wanted to set me up with somebody and I didn\u2019t even look to see who it was,\u201d Kaling, 46, shared during an interview with Bustle<\/em><\/a>, published on Tuesday, October 21. \u201cI didn\u2019t laugh in her face because I love her and I love that she was thinking of me in that way, but I just thought it\u2019s not time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her laughter was more at the idea of \u201cdoing my hair and putting on makeup and getting out there,\u201d above anything else.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have three kids under the age of 7, so for me to want to leave them, especially when I travel for work a lot,\u201d Kaling continued. \u201cI\u2019m very happy. I work with so many men and I love romance, but it\u2019s interesting how all those things can be true and you can decide that you\u2019re like, \u2018I\u2019m fine.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMindy Kaling doesn\u2019t show her children\u2019s faces via social media, but she has given glimpses of the little ones over the years. The Office alum welcomed daughter Katherine in December 2017, waiting until November of the following year to show her Instagram followers a photo of her baby girl. Kaling, who has kept the paternity [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kaling does see the irony, however.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know on a certain level, as a writer who writes stories for women, that finding someone who is good and has a good heart and is earnest is what one should yearn for, and you should outgrow these immature tendencies to find someone funny and mean,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019ve literally written this story for young women and I haven\u2019t learned that lesson myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kaling is a mom to three kids<\/a>: Katherine, 7, Spencer, 5, and Anne, 20 months. She hasn\u2019t publicly shared any details about their father \u2014 although fans have speculated<\/a> that it\u2019s her longtime friend and ex B.J. Novak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t bother me,\u201d she told Marie Claire<\/em> in August 2022 about the rumors. \u201cHe\u2019s the godparent to both my kids \u2014 and they have such a great relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n

She explained that the speculation didn\u2019t impact her happiness.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt hasn\u2019t affected my kids or B.J.,\u201d Kaling added. \u201cIf that\u2019s what is going to be titillating to people, I\u2019ll take it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kaling explained that she\u2019s waiting until her kids are \u201cold enough to talk about it\u201d before discussing her fertility journey publicly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m the only parent my kids have,\u201d she shared. \u201cI think I err on the side of super cautious so that there\u2019s less things that they can potentially be mad at me about down the line.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kaling and Novak, 46, dated for three years before calling it quits in 2007. She\u2019s previously explained that he\u2019s become more like \u201cfamily than a platonic friend<\/a>\u201d over the years.<\/p>\n
