Ice Cube<\/a> took some time to fire back at a critic of his new song, \u201cAct My Age,\u201d and said the troll should get a sense of humor.<\/p>\n Cube dropped off the music video for his \u201cAct My Age\u201d song with Scarface on Oct. 15, and one viral post on X noted that the track is \u201ca prime example of why, as a rapper, you just gotta know when it\u2019s time to hang the mic up.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI would never listen to you and hang up my mic,\u201d Cube wrote<\/a> in response on Monday (Oct. 20). \u201cYou\u2019ve obviously lost your sense of humor. You need to go find it and stay out of my business.\u201d<\/p>\n The song actually deals with this very topic, with Cube saying at the beginning of the track: \u201cIf you\u2019re over 35 and still rapping, keep rapping, my boy. F\u2014k all of that, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m getting old\u2019 s\u2014t. No, we need y\u2019all, we need y\u2019all to save music. We need the real lyricists back.\u201d<\/p>\n The song originally appeared on Cube\u2019s latest album, Man Up<\/a>, which dropped on Sept. 12.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve always stood on speaking truth to power and making music that reflects reality,\u201d Cube said in a statement. \u201cMan Up is about accountability, resilience and reminding people where the real problems come from.
