Sarah Ferguson<\/strong> is making a royal shift.<\/span><\/p>\n Four days after her ex-husband <\/span>Prince Andrew<\/strong><\/a> announced he would <\/span>no longer use his royal titles<\/span><\/a> such as Duke of York, she updated her social media to remove references to her Duchess of York title.<\/span><\/p>\n The 66-year-old, popularly known as Fergie, formerly used the <\/span>X (formerly Twitter)<\/span><\/a> handle @SarahTheDuchess, though it now reads @sarahMFergie15.<\/span><\/p>\n On <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a>, her handle @SarahFerguson15 remains unchanged, while her bio on both platforms makes no reference to her former title.<\/span><\/p>\n Though Sarah and Prince Andrew finalized their divorce in 1996, the former Duchess had retained the royal title\u2014given to her by <\/span>Queen Elizabeth II<\/strong> upon her 1986 wedding\u2014in some areas of her public life. However, she will now solely be referred to as Sarah Ferguson.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, her and Andrew\u2019s daughters <\/span>Princess Beatrice<\/strong><\/a>, 37, and <\/span>Princess Eugenie<\/strong><\/a>, 35, will retain their official titles, which are both “Her Royal Highness Princess.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
