Puscifer have just announced their fifth studio album, Normal Isn\u2019t<\/em>. Following the album’s February 6th release, the band will embark on a North American tour. In conjunction with the announcement, the band has released the music video for the first single, “Self Evident.” <\/p>\n Though it’s Puscifer’s first record of new music since 2020’s Existential Reckoning<\/em>, the band has kept busy in the intervening years. Last year saw the release of “The Algorithm”<\/a> for the American Psycho comic book soundtrack and a series of shows<\/a> celebrating Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday. This past July they released the career retrospective In Case You Were Napping<\/em><\/a>. <\/p>\n Keenan sheds light on what fans can expect from the new album:<\/p>\n “We’re definitely leaning into our early influences. It’s the place where goth meets punk. It’s where I came from.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Co-vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Carina Round adds, <\/p>\n “Instead of just saying, ‘I want this to sound like Fleetwood Mac on cocaine if they had a baby with PJ Harvey,’ Maynard was showing us his intention, which was really cool. In Puscifer, any idea can totally change without any preciousness, and everybody is on board \u2013 not unlike an insane asylum. We found each other because we\u2019re demented in a symbiotic way.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Bandmate and multi-instrumentalist Mat Mitchell, who co-produced the record, describes its recording process: <\/p>\n “From the outset, we had discussed an element of rawness and edge, which guitar brings.
