As the music world mourns the devastating loss of Limp Bizkit rocker Sam Rivers<\/strong><\/a> \u2014\u00a0who died Saturday, October 18 at age 48 \u2014\u00a0more details are coming to light about the musician’s death.<\/p>\n In a new TMZ<\/a>report published on Tuesday, October 21, a spokesperson for the St. Johns County, Florida Fire Rescue told the outlet that they responded to a call for a “nonresponsive person in cardiac arrest.” The rep additionally noted that “Deputies responded to an attended death at that address.”<\/p>\n Per the American Institute of Crime Scene Integrity<\/a>, the definition of an “attended death” is one in which the decedent has been a patient under medical care for a serious or life-threatening illness that will likely lead to death in a relatively short period of time (days or months, but not years).”<\/p>\n The cause of Rivers’ death is not yet known.<\/p>\n Rivers was the bassist of the ’90s “Nookie” rockers<\/a> for decades before temporarily leaving the group in 2015 after getting “liver disease from excessive drinking,” he told previously told Variety<\/a>. He rejoined the band in 2018 after getting sober and receiving a liver transplant. His final performance with the group was in August.<\/p>\n In the wake of Rivers’ death, Limp Bizkit \u2014\u00a0which is made up of surviving members Fred Durst<\/strong><\/a>, Wes Borland<\/strong>, John Otto <\/strong>and DJ Lethal<\/strong> \u2014 paid tribute to their beloved “brother”<\/a> in a lengthy memorial post on Instagram.<\/p>\n Calling Rivers “our heartbeat,” the band said the rocker “wasn\u2019t just our bass player \u2014 he was pure magic.”<\/p>\n “He was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human. A true legend of legends,” the statement continued. “And his spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory.”<\/p>\n “We love you, Sam.
