It\u2019s been a complicated year for Brandon Claybon\u2019s <\/strong>Beyond the Gates character Martin Richardson. From political ambitions to family secrets, the character has faced some of the show\u2019s most intense storylines yet.<\/p>\n The actor recently appeared <\/a>on Fox 5 DC\u2019s Good Day 10 <\/em>to discuss his experience working on the CBS daytime drama and reflect on Martin\u2019s eventful year.<\/p>\n When asked what storyline he\u2019d like to see for Martin, Claybon smiled and said, \u201cFor [me], I would like to see Martin run for president again,\u201d referencing an early storyline on Beyond the Gates<\/em> where Martin spoke about his interest in running for the presidency.<\/p>\n \u201cNow I know everybody was saying before, everything that Martin has been through, it is just a lot, how does he think he\u2019s going to be President?\u201d Claybon joked.<\/p>\n To say that Martin has had an intense year would be an understatement. Years ago, Martin killed a man in self-defense while protecting his grandfather Vernon (Clifton Davis<\/strong>), in a sundown town. His family helped covered up the murder, as well as the brutal attack on the victim\u2019s brother. But his past came back to haunt him when the brother arrived in Fairmont Crest and began terrorizing Martin through his family. With the help of Joey Armstrong, the immediate threat was handled.
