Flagler Avenue restaurant to close after 8 years in New Smyrna Beach<\/a><\/span><\/p>\nEmbracing a one-stop-shop approach, the East ISB venue opened not only as a restaurant, where fried bologna sandwiches, calamari and house-made Key lime pie shared space under one roof, but as a liquor store (Booze Box), car wash (Waves Wash) and entertainment venue. <\/p>\nCustomers react to Beaches’ upcoming closure<\/h2>\n
The establishment\u2019s original post garnered more than 400 social interactions in its first few hours online, including at least 100 comments from disheartened regulars \u2014 some expressing their shock over the seemingly sudden decision, others recalling beloved memories of past visits.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo sorry to see you guys close. Doc made such an improvement to the entrance to The World\u2019s Most Famous Beach. It was an eyesore just like many of other buildings in the area,\u201d Facebook user Roger Cook wrote. \u201cToo bad it wasn’t appreciated more … I hope someone will buy it and turn it around. Restaurant and bar business is so tough nowadays,\u201d his comment continued.<\/p>\n\nUser Loretta Arthur echoed Cook\u2019s statement, commenting, \u201cI\u2019m so deeply sorry to hear this news. The transformation Beaches brought to East International Speedway Boulevard was truly remarkable \u2014 a heartfelt effort that added so much vibrancy and promise to the area. Thank you for all you did to make it such a special and memorable place,\u201d her comment continues. \u201cBeaches will truly be missed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the restaurant\u2019s upcoming closure, the onsite liquor store and car wash will remain open, Beaches noted.<\/p>\n
