Kenny Loggins isn\u2019t pleased that President Donald Trump used one of his songs in an AI-generated video.<\/p>\n
The two-time Grammy<\/a> winner has demanded that Trump remove his 1986 hit \u201cDanger Zone\u201d from a \u201cNo Kings\u201d<\/a> video the president posted to Truth Social<\/a> on Saturday, Oct. 18.<\/p>\n Clearly invoking \u201cTop Gun,\u201d for which \u201cDanger Zone\u201d was written, the clip showed Trump piloting a fighter jet and dumping what appeared to be fecal matter on demonstrators who gathered to protest<\/a> his administration\u2019s policies. In response, Loggins sent a statement to USA TODAY<\/a> on Monday objecting the use of the song.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is an unauthorized use of my performance of \u2018Danger Zone.\u2019 Nobody asked me for my permission, which I would have denied,\u201d Loggins told the outlet. \u201cI request that my recording on this video is removed immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us,\u201d he continued. \u201cToo many people are trying to tear us apart, and we need to find new ways to come together.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re all Americans, and we\u2019re all patriotic,\u201d Loggins added. \u201cThere is no \u2018us and them\u2019 \u2014 that\u2019s not who we are, nor is it what we should be. It\u2019s all of us. We\u2019re in this together, and it is my hope that we can embrace music as a way of celebrating and uniting each and every one of us.\u201d<\/p>\n NPR reports<\/a> it asked for a comment from the White House.
