Michael J Fox has labeled his Parkinson’s<\/a> as a “bully.”<\/p>\n The 64-year-old<\/a> actor, who was diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease in 1991<\/a>, recently reflected on the timeless appeal of Back To The Future. He discussed how the current “bully culture” makes the time travel saga still relevant today.<\/p>\n In an interview with Empire magazine, he said, “We live in a bully culture right now. We have bullies everywhere – you don’t need me to point the finger at who, but there are all these bullies.<\/p>\n “In this movie, Biff is a bully. Time is a bully. For me personally, Parkinson’s is a bully.<\/p>\n “And it’s all about how you stand up to them and the resolve that you take into the fight with them. It’s about your resilience and your courage.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Since his diagnosis, the Back to the Future star has founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease.<\/p>\n The foundation has funded $2 billion in research, and at its annual gala, celebrities like Stevie Nicks showed up to lend their support.
