Keanu Reeves<\/a> has had discussions about making a second Constantine<\/a> movie, having previously pitched a script for a sequel of the supernatural film.<\/p>\n Reeves, 61, played John Constantine, an unorthodox and cynical exorcist, in the 2005 film, which has since developed a cult following.<\/p>\n The character, which is based on the DC Comics\/Vertigo series Hellblazer, has long been a favourite of Reeves and progress appears to have been made, according to DC Studios co-head James Gunn<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve discussed it on and off. I\u2019ve discussed it with Keanu,\u201d Gunn told the BobaTalks<\/a> podcast. However, he said he hasn\u2019t read a script for the film yet.<\/p>\n It comes after Reeves revealed that he had pitched a treatment for a new Constantine film to DC Studios earlier this year.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWe have been trying to make this film for over a decade, and we just recently put a story together and pitched it to DC Studios and they said, \u2018Okay.\u2019 So, we’re going to try and write a script,\u201d the John Wick <\/a>star told Inverse<\/a>.<\/p>\n Keanu Reeves in \u2018Constantine\u2019 (Warner Bros)<\/p>\n Directed by Francis Lawrence<\/a>, the original film also starred Rachel Weisz<\/a>, Shia LaBeouf, <\/a>Pruitt Taylor Vince, Djimon Hounsou, Gavin Rossdale and Tilda Swinton <\/a>but it remains unclear if any are returning for a potential sequel.<\/p>\n While details about the sequel were scant, Reeves admitted one thing: \u201ctortured\u201d John Constantine\u2019s troubles were only starting.<\/p>\n Confirming that Constantine 2 would be set in the \u201csame world\u201d as the original, Reeves added: \u201cWe\u2019re not going off that. John Constantine\u2019s going to be tortured even more.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/span><\/div>\n
