CHARLOTTE WESSELS<\/strong> has released a brand new lyric video!<\/p>\n The Dutch singer-songwriter has unveiled Backup Plan<\/strong>, a haunting duet with Asger<\/strong> Mygind<\/strong> of VOLA<\/strong>, originally featured as a bonus track on select vinyl editions of her 2024 full-band debut The Obsession<\/strong><\/a>. Now, the track takes centre stage as part of The Obsession (Deluxe Edition)<\/strong>, which is set to be released digitally this Friday, October 24th via Napalm<\/strong> Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Speaking about the new single, Charlotte Wessels<\/strong> says, \u201cthe new single, Backup Plan<\/strong> (feat. Asger<\/strong> Mygind<\/strong>\/VOLA<\/strong>), is one of those songs that refused to let go. It started as an outtake from the original sessions, but something about it never felt complete, until we toured with VOLA<\/strong> and the missing piece revealed itself. Asger<\/strong>\u2019s voice perfectly brought out the song\u2019s contrast between beauty and darkness. The song presents a conversation between life and the quiet pull of the unknown, a duet with Death, presenting itself not as a villain but as a kind refuge. Working with Asger Mygind<\/strong> brought that concept fully to life; his performance captures the gentleness and gravity I always imagined. This version finally sounds the way it was always meant to.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Asger Mygind<\/strong> adds, \u201cI needed no time to consider my participation when Charlotte<\/strong> asked if I wanted to be a guest on Backup<\/strong> Plan<\/strong>. Her sound is immensely distinctive, adventurous and catchy, and I was thrilled diving into the colorful universe she evokes with her songwriting.
