As one of the best and brightest stars flying out of Oklahoma in the red dirt scene, it\u2019s hard to point to a more important artist in the genre right now than Wyatt Flores<\/strong><\/a>. After breaking out back in 2023 thanks to the continued success of his 2022 platinum single, \u201cPlease Don\u2019t Go,\u201d and other viral hits such as \u201cLosing Sleep\u201d and \u201cBreak My Bones,\u201d the 24-year-old singer\/songwriter stunned everyone upon the release of his debut album, Welcome To The Plains, <\/em>last October.<\/p>\n The record, which instantly transported you to Flores\u2019 home in Oklahoma, proved to be one of the best releases of the year. Not only did it build upon the patented Red Dirt-inspired sound that he has been curating throughout his career, but it also contained some of the best songwriting moments of the year on stellar tracks such as the heartbreaking \u201cOh Susannah,\u201d the brooding \u201cStillwater\u201d and the morbid yet hilarious \u201cWhen I Die.\u201d<\/p>\n With all of that being said, many (myself included) have been patiently waiting for new music from the \u201cMilwaukee\u201d singer throughout the year \u2014 and it looks like he\u2019s got some new tunes ready to be recorded soon.<\/p>\n Taking to social media today, Flores would tease a new song he\u2019s been playing live overseas while opening up for 49 Winchester<\/strong><\/a> on their\u00a0Welcome To The Holler Tour<\/em> the past month.<\/p>\n Adressing the fact that he hasn\u2019t released any original music yet this year, Flores would tell the unspecified crowd in the video that he\u2019s heard the calls for new music and noted that he\u2019s waiting to wrap up touring for the year before recording new songs.<\/p>\n \u201cI do got some new songs. I haven\u2019t even sang these back in the States. We\u2019ve been having fun trying them out here for y\u2019all. I haven\u2019t released music in over a year now. And now everyone\u2019s starting to be like, \u2018You got anything?\u2019 And this is just proof that I do. I just gotta get off tour, so I can go record this sh*t.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n He\u2019d then proceed to share the chorus to the new track, titled \u201cWay I Do,\u201d and it\u2019s another standout.<\/p>\n If there\u2019s one thing that\u2019s certain about Flores and his writing style, it\u2019s that he\u2019s not afraid to go to uncomfortable places. Being a champion of mental health and very public about his struggles, there\u2019s always been a tangible amount of empathy in his music. That remains the same here.
