Lincoln Ave.<\/p>\n<p>The title of the reading, \u201cEvery Falling Leaf,\u201d is a line from Gibson\u2019s poem \u201cHow the Worst Day of My Life Became the Best.\u201d The poets participating in the reading are encouraged to respond to this anchoring poem, any other poem by Gibson, or in tribute to Gibson\u2019s life and art.<\/p>\n<p>Gibson died earlier this year at the age of 49.<\/p>\n<p>The free community event celebrates Gibson\u2019s legacy and the ways their work continues to inspire courage, truth and compassion.<\/p>\n<p>The reading will begin with an open microphone. Ten poets will have two minutes each to share something they have written. Sign up for the open mic starts at 12:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly a dozen pre-selected featured readers from Northern Colorado will round out the afternoon: Sunny Bridge, Roger Clark, BJ Clark, Lynn Kincanon, Beth Lechleitner, Melissa Mitchell, Veronica Patterson, Emily Rodgers-Ramos, April Stutters, Mark Sanchez, Valerie Szarek and Celia Turner.<\/p>\n<p>The event is free in keeping with the Loveland Poet Laureate\u2019s mission to make poetry accessible to everyone. Growing up in Loveland and learning photography in the days of film and darkrooms, he has come full circle. After years of quick snapshots, his work documenting artifacts at the museum rekindled a slower, more intentional approach to image making.
