Prince Harry has released a statement expressing his concerns about the future<\/a> as he and Meghan Markle backed a ban on an important issue.<\/p>\n

It has been revealed that the Duke<\/a> and Duchess of Sussex have signed an open letter demanding a ban on AI superintelligence, along with numerous celebrities and political figures.<\/p>\n

The correspondence directly targets technology giants, including Google, OpenAI and Meta, which are reportedly developing forms of artificial intelligence<\/a> intended to exceed human capabilities across multiple functions.<\/p>\n

The letter, which has additionally been endorsed by figures such as Stephen Fry, musician Will.i.am, Sir Richard Branson and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, seeks the halt of such AI advancement until “there is broad scientific consensus that it will be done safely and controllably, and strong public buy-in.”<\/p>\n

Within the letter, Harry also included a personal message, declaring, “The future of AI should serve humanity, not replace it. I believe the true test of progress will be not how fast we move, but how wisely we steer. There is no second chance.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the document, Harry, Meghan and the additional signers declared, “Many leading AI companies have the stated goal of building superintelligence in the coming decade that can significantly outperform all humans on essentially all cognitive tasks.<\/p>\n

“This has raised concerns, ranging from human economic obsolescence and disempowerment, losses of freedom, civil liberties, dignity, and control, to national security risks and even potential human extinction.”<\/p>\n

The letter comes following Harry and Meghan’s previous warnings about social media’s effects on young people.<\/p>\n

At this month’s Project Healthy Minds gathering in New York<\/a> City, Harry declared that the online realm has “fundamentally changed how we experience reality.”<\/p>\n

Meghan discussed their charitable organization, the Archewell Foundation, and its efforts supporting families impacted by social media dangers, explaining that recovery relies on collective experiences rather than isolation.<\/p>\n
