\n\tLike Adele, Lorde<\/a> has leaned into taking time off to live her life out of the spotlight between album releases. And, also like Adele, the \u201cMan of the Year\u201d singer has been fine with long gaps between those releases. But after the usual four-year gap between this Virgin<\/em> and her previous LP, 2021\u2019s Solar Power<\/em>, Lorde said she\u2019s hoping to give fans new music sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n \n\tAsked by Variety<\/a><\/em> how she\u2019s feeling in the midst of her global Ultrasound tour about which direction her sound might evolve into the next time around, Lorde, 28, said she\u2019s \u201cexcited to find out.\u201d In fact, the singer added, \u201cI\u2019m definitely feeling very active and not needing a break from being creative. I\u2019m feeling kind of insatiable, to be honest. So I don\u2019t know, but I\u2019ve thrown the gauntlet down that it\u2019s not going to be four years [again], so I\u2019ve gotta keep to that.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tLorde released her debut, Pure Heroine<\/em>, in 2013, which she followed up in 2017 with Melodrama<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tLorde also talked about how her previous struggles with stage fright have subsided for now and how her pre-show rituals help keep her grounded and comfortable during performances. \u201cI\u2019m pretty lucky that my stage fright is at bay now, because that was really a big part of my life,\u201d she said. \u201cWhat do I do? I don\u2019t know, I\u2019m a bit of a witch. I\u2019m always burning something, I\u2019m always writing something down before the show. Nothing too crazy \u2014 I do a bunch of push-ups and planks and s\u2013t.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tShe\u2019s clearly feeling relaxed and excited on stage, as evidenced by her gig at Los Angeles\u2019 Kia Forum last Saturday, when she capped off the show<\/a> with a guest spot from pal Charli XCX for the latest electrifying live rendition of their Brat<\/em> remix of \u201cGirl, So Confusing.\u201d The dynamic duo previously performed the song together during Charli and Troye Sivan\u2019s Sweat tour stop at New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden last September, then again during Charli\u2019s Coachella set in April.<\/p>\n \n\tAfter wrapping the North American run of the Ultrasound tour on Wednesday night (Oct. 22) at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Lorde will take a few weeks off and return to the stage on Nov. 9 at Rockhal in Luxembourg for a European swing that will run through a Dec. 9 show at Annexet in Sweden. <\/p>\n
