Grimes<\/a> has drawn attention to a new tattoo she got on her face which she says \u201cliterally no one noticed\u201d.<\/p>\n The \u2018Genesis\u2019 singer took to Instagram to share a photo highlighting the new ink, and say that she was surprised to see that not even family members seemed to notice it.<\/p>\n The new design shows a large circle that encompasses her left eye, and is seen in the new photo that shows her without make-up.<\/p>\n \u201cSpent like 10 years emotionally working up to a face tattoo,\u201d she began the caption, going on to reference how she showed it off in the new music video for her song \u2018Artificial Angels<\/a>\u2019. \u201cBut I guess I drew on my face too much and literally no one noticed, not even my parents, not even after the video lol.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to highlight how it is a cybersigilism design, which blends together cyberpunk aesthetics and ancient symbolism, and thanked her tattoo artist for capturing the design she had in mind.<\/p>\n \u201cThat said I think @glyphomancer is onto something truly novel and innovative with her work esp on face tats,\u201d Grimes added. \u201cThere\u2019s a true beauty, delicacy, and innovation here imo.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFeel like tats are in a crazy renaissance period that\u2019s sort of under appreciated atm.\u201d<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time that Grimes has reflected her personal aesthetics in body art, back in 2021 she had a large neo-tribal piece tattooed on her back, and earlier this year she got a white, hand-poked design put on her right shoulder<\/a>.<\/p>\n The latter was done just before the musician took to social media to call out the intense beauty standards being pushed online and in the media.<\/p>\n \u201cDo any other women feel like ur being choked to death on beauty culture?\u201d she wrote on X, after seeing an ad online for a makeup store. \u201cCan I go somewhere where someone isn\u2019t shoving \u2018DONT YOU WANT TO BE BEAUTIFUL\u2019 down my throat.<\/p>\n \u201cThe insidiousness of what our culture does to young women is insane. I feel enraged knowing I won\u2019t be able to protect my daughter from this. It comes amid a huge ongoing debate about the use of AI, and follows on from other of Grimes\u2019 songs that touch on the subject, including \u2018I Wanna Be Software\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n The title makes a nod to her 2015 album \u2018Art Angels<\/a>\u2019, and the cover for the single is made by Grimes and consists of various internet memes made about her and her outlook on tech.
