Reba McEntire<\/strong> is recalling fond memories she shared with Brandon Blackstock<\/strong> following his death at age 48.<\/p>\n The country music icon, 70, who was married to Brandon\u2019s father Narvel Blackstock<\/strong> from 1989 to 2015, told People<\/a> in an interview published Tuesday, October 21, that her relationship with her late stepson was \u201cprecious.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI absolutely loved that child,\u201d she said of Kelly Clarkson<\/strong>\u2019s ex-husband, who died August 7 following a lengthy battle with melanoma<\/a>. \u201cHe came into my life, I guess he was 4 years old. Then when Narvel and I got married, he was 13, 14.\u201d<\/p>\n McEntire, who is now engaged to Happy\u2019s Place costar Rex Linn<\/strong>, told the publication that she \u201chelped raise\u201d Brandon alongside Narvel\u2019s other children, daughters Shawna Rene Blackstock<\/strong> and Chassidy Celeste Blackstock<\/strong>, adding: \u201cThey were my kids.\u201d<\/p>\n Reba McEntire\/Instagram<\/span><\/p>\n The \u201cFancy\u201d singer also revealed some of the talent manager\u2019s favorite pastimes, saying that he enjoyed pulling pranks on others.<\/p>\n \u201cHe loved to scare people,\u201d McEntire said. \u201cWe\u2019d be at the office there at Starstruck [Entertainment, a talent management company owned by Narvel] in Nashville and I\u2019d be sitting at my desk and I\u2019d see Penny Chubb<\/strong> [a Starstruck employee] walk by going to the lady\u2019s room, and then here comes Brandon. He\u2019d hide behind the pillar.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that Brandon \u201cis sorely missed,\u201d telling People: \u201cWe\u2019ll never forget him.\u201d<\/p>\n As Star previously reported, Brandon had a girlfriend<\/a> at the time of his death.
