It won\u2019t be long before all of our TVs are glowing with a new Jane Schoenbrun<\/a> series.<\/p>\n

The filmmaker is set to write and direct an adaptation of Charles Burns\u2019 comic book series \u201cBlack Hole<\/a>\u201d co-produced by New Regency<\/a> and Netflix<\/a>, which has received a straight-to-series order from the streaming giant. The project will mark Schoenbrun\u2019s first foray into television after directing the acclaimed films \u201cWe\u2019re All Going to the World\u2019s Fair<\/a>\u201d and \u201cI Saw the TV Glow<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

News of the series was first reported by THR. IndieWire<\/a> has reached out to Schoenbrun\u2019s representatives for additional comment.<\/p>\n

Published over the course of 12 issues between 1995 and 2005, \u201cBlack Hole<\/a>\u201d tells the story of a group of Seattle teenagers who develop severe genetic mutations after encountering a sexually transmitted disease known as \u201cthe Bug.\u201d The material seems firmly within Schoenbrun\u2019s wheelhouse, as the auteur often finds parallels between teenage…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
