Foo Fighters have released a new song, Asking For A Friend,\u00a0and announced a North American stadium tour for next summer.<\/p>\n
The heavy yet\u00a0melodic rock track arrives after teasers\u00a0both online and via billboards,\u00a0and is accompanied by\u00a0a lengthy\u00a0personal statement<\/a> from frontman\u00a0Dave Grohl:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n “Since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago, we have been reminded of why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing. From reuniting as a band and staring at a list of 30 years worth of songs to brush off, to reimagining versions with the incredible blessing of the one and only Ilan Rubin behind the drums, to reconnecting with our amazing fans and blasting them with everything we\u2019ve got (no matter the size of the venue) because we would not be here without them, we have the most solid core. And the sun is finally rising over the horizon.<\/p>\n

“In 1992 I first saw the legendary Kyuss perform at the Off Ramp in Seattle and met Mr. Josh Homme. The band were friends of a friend, and before long their album Blues for the Red Sun became the soundtrack to that summer. 33 years later and with many miles behind us, I have shared some of my life\u2019s most rewarding musical moments with my dear friend, Josh. Asking For A Friend follows the American band’s July single, Today’s Song, and drops alongside news of their Take Cover Tour<\/em>\u00a0of\u00a0North America\u00a0next summer, their first run of dates since 2023\/24’s\u00a0Everything Or Nothing At All Tour<\/em>. Main support will come from Queens Of The Stone Age, with Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away opening on select dates. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on October 31.<\/p>\n
A few weeks ago, Foo Fighters released a live EP titled ‘Are Playing Where ???\u00a0Vol. 1’<\/a> exclusively on Bandcamp<\/a>, featuring the songs Alone + Easy Target, Exhausted, Wattershed, Weenie Beenie, White Limo and Winnebago. Recorded during their surprise US\u00a0club shows in September, the first gig saw\u00a0Grohl officially introducing new drummer Ilan Rubin, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails.<\/p>\n
Rubin replaces Josh Freese, who\u00a0left earlier this year. Freese\u00a0joined Foo Fighters in 2023 after the death of long-time drummer Taylor Hawkins.<\/p>\n
Foo Fighters released their most recent studio album, ‘But Here We Are’, in 2023. It\u00a0was their\u00a0first without Hawkins.<\/p>\n
They’ll play two shows in\u00a0Mexico in November, including a headline set at\u00a0Corona Capital<\/a>\u00a0festival in Mexico City.<\/p>\n
