Kim Kardashian<\/strong> is opening up about the emotions she kept hidden during her nearly seven-year marriage to Kanye West<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the premiere episode of The Kardashians<\/em> Season 7, which aired Thursday, October 23 on Hulu, the reality star revealed she felt it was her duty to stand by West during his public outbursts, even at her own expense.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been able to hide it for so long,\u201d the SKIMS founder, 45, said, according to Page Six<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI always felt like I had a little bit of Stockholm syndrome, to where I always felt really bad and always protected [him] and always wanted to help [him].\u201d<\/p>\n

Merriam-Webster defines<\/a> Stockholm syndrome as \u201cthe psychological tendency of a hostage to bond with, identify with, or sympathize with his or her captor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kardashian and West, 48, wed in Florence, Italy, in 2014. She filed for divorce from the rapper in 2021, and it took more than a year to finalize.<\/p>\n

While the marriage is over, Kardashian admitted to the cameras that it\u2019s not as easy to move on as some may think. While critics claim she has \u201cthe luxury of walking away\u201d from the rapper and \u201cnever dealing [with him] again,\u201d she said, \u201cThat\u2019s not my reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former couple shares four children<\/a> \u2013 North<\/strong>, 12, Saint<\/strong>, 9, Chicago<\/strong>, 7, and Psalm<\/strong>, 6 \u2013 who are becoming aware of their father\u2019s public behavior, she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re going to know things,\u201d Kardashian continued. \u201cThey\u2019re going to grow up. They\u2019re going to see. So my job as a mom is to just make sure that at a time when that behavior is happening, is to make sure they\u2019re protected.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the premiere, Kardashian also addressed West\u2019s past accusations that she keeps their children from him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a divorce, not a kidnapping,\u201d she said. \u201cWe haven\u2019t left. We\u2019re in the same spot. We have the same address, so he knows where his kids are.\u201d<\/p>\n

The episode follows Kardashian\u2019s revealing Call Her Daddy<\/em> podcast interview last week, where she admitted she raises her and West\u2019s kids \u201cfull-time\u201d<\/a> and said they haven\u2019t heard from the rapper in \u201ca couple months.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI raise the kids, you know, full-time,\u201d she said. \u201cThey live with me, and I welcome a great, healthy relationship with my kids and their dad. And I think, you know, he knows that. I push for it all the time, but I also protect them when, you know, it\u2019s time for that. And it goes in waves and phases, and it\u2019s, you know, a lot of work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kardashian is single, while West has since remarried to Biana Censori<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
