9-1-1<\/a>: Nashville<\/em> star Isabelle Tate<\/strong>\u2019s cause of death has been revealed.<\/p>\n

Tate died from a rare neurological disorder, the actress\u2019 agency revealed on\u00a0Thursday, October 23.<\/p>\n

\u201cIsabelle \u2018Izzy\u2019 Tate had a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease<\/span><\/a>,\u201d the McCray Agency shared via its Instagram Story<\/a>. \u201cShe passed away peacefully on the 19th of October. The family requests privacy as they deal with this sudden and shocking loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tate\u2019s agency directed followers to learn more about the hereditary disease through the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is \u201ca group of inherited conditions that cause nerve damage,\u201d according to Mayo Clinic<\/a><\/em>. \u201cInherited conditions pass down through families. This damage mainly is in the nerves of the arms and legs, called the peripheral nerves. Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease also is called hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease causes smaller, weaker muscles and can lead to trouble walking, as well as loss of feeling in the legs and feet. Other symptoms include high arches, curled toes, tripping often and clumsy walking.<\/p>\n

Tate died at age 23 on October 19<\/a>, her agency confirmed on Wednesday, October 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th. She was 23,\u201d a Facebook post read. \u201cI\u2019ve known Izzy since she was a teenager and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1 Nashville<\/em>. She had a wonderful time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tate\u2019s reps also shared information from her obituary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIsabelle loved volunteering her time to all things, particularly animals \u2014 her idea of a fun outing was visiting an animal shelter and doling out lots of love,\u201d the website read. \u201cIsabelle was full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others.\u201d<\/p>\n

The obituary continued, \u201cShe was also quite musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends and even publishing a few. What she loved the most, though, was spending time with family and friends, always the life of the party. Her sister was her best friend and her mom was her shining beacon of light.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tate appeared in the 9-1-1: Nashville<\/em> premiere earlier this month, portraying a guest at a bachelorette party who got a dance from stripper-turned-firefighter Blue (Hunter McVey<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

While Tate did not often discuss her health battle via social media, she opened up about her neuromuscular disease<\/a> in a December 2022 Instagram post.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was 13, I got diagnosed with a progressive neuromuscular disease that weakens my leg muscles over time,\u201d she wrote. \u201cWhen I was first diagnosed, I couldn\u2019t fully understand what it was or grasp what it could be. Over the years, I was going on with my life and would notice little things get more difficult for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
