Phyllis Summers<\/strong> is back to making big moves in The Young and the Restless<\/strong><\/a>. Played by Michelle Stafford, the fiery and ambitious redhead has had enough of being underestimated in Genoa City.<\/p>\n Phyllis once believed teaming up with Billy and Cane would help her win. However, Cane\u2019s indecisiveness made her lose trust in him. She backed his business plans, but realized she couldn\u2019t count on him when he chose to play it safe for his family. Now, she\u2019s going solo and plans to use his risky AI program to get ahead.<\/p>\n Michelle Stafford shared in a\u00a0Soap Opera Digest<\/a>\u00a0interview that her character, Phyllis, is done relying on others.<\/span> \u201cShe\u2019s so over people treating her like crap. She just wants to take over Genoa City. So that\u2019s what she\u2019s hoping to get.\u201d<\/p>\n After losing trust in Cane, who decided to play it safe and prove himself to Lily and their kids, Phyllis is moving forward on her own and plans to use his risky AI program to make her next move.<\/p>\n \u201cShe has her own plan,\u201d Stafford explained. \u201cAnd it\u2019s not about trust. He comes with a lot. He comes with a high-ticket price, and she\u2019s like, I don\u2019t care. I\u2019m gonna make it happen. She thinks she\u2019s smarter than everybody in that town, so even if he tries to one-up her, she believes in her own ability to take him down if she has to.\u201d<\/p>\n Even though her character has lost trust in Cane, Stafford said she loves working with Billy Flynn, who plays Cane Ashby. She explained, \u201cLove him so much. I cannot say enough great things about him. He has an energy and a directness about him.\u201d<\/p>\n The actress revealed they recently filmed a scene where Cane firmly tells Phyllis to sit down \u2014 surprisingly, she does. Usually, Phyllis would push back, but Cane is one of the few who can truly influence her. She added that Victor is the only person who has the same effect on Phyllis.<\/p>\n Phyllis knows betraying Cane could cause trouble, but she\u2019s ready to take that risk. Stafford said her character is desperate to prove her strength. \u201cShe\u2019s like, really fighting for her life.
