Denise Richards<\/a> has responded to her ex husband Charlie Sheen<\/a>\u2019s recent claim that she once cashed a $1 million check that he wrote out to her as a joke.<\/p>\n The Real Housewives<\/a> <\/em>star posted a photo of the purported check \u2014 which featured Sheen’s name, signature, and the large lump sum \u2014\u00a0on her Instagram Story on Thursday.<\/p>\n “Found this during my recent move,” Richards captioned the image. “I never cashed it @Charliesheen. I wrote a check to Denise once for a million dollars on her birthday kind of as a joke, and she kept it not<\/em> as a joke,” he said. “And then, like a month later, f—ing cashed it.”<\/p>\n The Two and a Half Men<\/em> actor said he couldn’t quite remember if they were married when the incident occurred, adding, “Which makes it sting more\u2026?”<\/p>\n The check that Richards posted on social media was dated Dec. 24, 2011, which is more than five years after the couple’s difficult divorce in November 2006. The former couple, who tied the knot in 2002, are parents to daughters Sami and Lola.<\/p>\n While speaking on the podcast, Sheen acknowledged that he probably would have cashed the $1 million check, too.
